10-13-2007 City of Wauchula Centennial Celebration
Celebrating Wauchula's colorful past and bright future.
The Miccosukee Indians were the first to sense the cosmic power of the land. They called it "Wauchula," which, translated means "The Call of the Sandhill Crane."
Pioneers like the Albrittons and Carltons and Englishes and McEwens and Beesons heard the call and knew this secret a long time ago: There's a little something about Wauchula and Hardee County that tugs at the soul.  This day was no ordenary event on Main Street there people from all over who took part and reflected on Wauchula's past and present. On hand was photos from way back compliments of the Cracker Trail Musesum in Zolfo Springs thanks to Sandy Scott dedication, to city officials dressed up in colonial atire,   old classic cars and tractors, food, bounce houses for the kids, music and entertainment for all.
