Wauchula, Fl. - Friday October 11, 2013 at 5:30 pm. Everyone who came out to the Art Gallery Preview and Hops on Main event at the Depot, had lots of fun tasting Cigar City's "Florida Cracker" brew, listening to Rodger and Corey play music, ice cold Coca-Cola Classic from this antique soda fountain and of course enjoy all of the artwork!

Guest got a tour of the historical train depot and a preview of art exhibit featuring Louise Weiss, Oneita Revell, Donna Patterson, and others. This event is to honor the history of Hardee County.

The brick depot was built in 1915 and replaced an old wooden depot that had been built when the first train arrived in Hardee County back in 1886.

There was a ribbon cutting ceremony officially opening this Tourist Information Center, Art Gallery, Fossil Display and Gift Shop at the Historic Train Depot in the City of Wauchula. Peace River Explorations is a non-profit organization which received a Grant from the Economic Development Authority of Hardee County for the Restoration of the north side of the Depot which was assigned to the City of Wauchula Community Redevelopment Agency to administer and accomplish. This will help with economic development and eco-tourism in Hardee County.
