The Open House at the Wauchula Fire Department part of Fire Prevention Week. The Hardee County Fire Dept. held their 2 annual Open House event for the general public this Saturday. Fire Fighters from all three municipalities participated in showing off their fire trucks and explaining how everything works. Also local and state agencies came to lend a hand at this event the Florida Forestry Service,brought their truck and Dozer, Florieda State Fire

Marshall, brought their K-9 and Bomb Squad robot and gave demonstrations on how each work in an emergency situation. The Hardee Fire & Rescue demonstrated how to extract a victim in a car accident and how they cut the car in pieces using their hydraulic tools. Representatives from the Hardee Police Dept. and The Wauchula Police Dept. Wauchula P.D. had their K-9 unit demonstrating how they apprehending a suspect. There was a Trauma helicopter folks got a chance to get close look at awesome machine. The kids got a chance to experience how to put out a house fire using one of the fire hoses, there was a couple of fire fighters grilling hot dogs for their guest. This was a very good educational community event I'm glade the Hardee fire dept. put on this great event.
