Honoring Small Town Heroes

Main Street Wauchula, Inc was honoring local heroes at this month’s Friday Night Live with the help of sponsor, Vandolah Power. The Freedom Festival themed Friday Night Live was held at Heritage Park on Friday, July 20, from 6-9 p.m. The community came out to celebrate the patriotic event with the Presentation of Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, and the honoring of multiple civil servant agencies such as the local National Guard, police officers, fire fighters, nurses, EMTs, and many more.
Folks came out with their lawn chairs and enjoyed patriotic performances from a variety of local talent. And some folks took advantage of some summer treasures at local retail stores and some enjoyed cool treats at the ice cream shop on Main Street or try delicious dishes from local restaurants in downtown Wauchula. The East end of Main Street had a live band playing some popular tunes for the crowed and their was folks who where showing off their motorcycles. Aaron's Rents raffled off a 60" Screen TV and they are raffling one each month at FNL. Also being an election year some of the candidates came out to campaign and get some community support. Also they crowned the King & Queen of Main Street 2012 - 2013 and winners where King - Thomas Trevino & Queen - Jennifer Wadsworth. congratulations all who participated.
